£5m Series A funding and SecureAck acquisition as CybaVerse scales its CybaOps platform
UK cyber security vendor CybaVerse is undergoing a major rebrand to reflect how it delivers cyber security, moving from consultancy-led defence to platform-driven cyber operations. Founded in 2018, CybaVerse has grown to more than 40 employees and now supports a rapidly expanding base of organisations and managed service provider (MSP) partners across the UK.
Cyber Security is Evolving
For much of the past decade, cyber security has focused on visibility, more tools, dashboards and alerts. But for many organisations, that visibility has come at the cost of control. Modern security teams are overwhelmed not because they lack tools, but because those tools rarely work together.
CybaVerse believes this model is broken.
As part of the rebrand, the company has formalised a concept it calls the Cyber Operator, a role focused on ownership and action rather than passive monitoring. Cyber Operators understand their environments, cut through operational noise and take responsibility for outcomes.
Oliver Spence, CEO of CybaVerse, has commented:
“We help organisations move from managing cyber to operating it. When you can see clearly, act decisively and stay ahead of risk, you stop reacting to threats and start commanding your security posture. This wasn’t a cosmetic exercise. It’s a statement about how cyber security needs to work if organisations are actually going to stay ahead of risk.”
CybaVerse supports the approach of security teams operating not as isolated defenders, but as operational leaders embedded within the business, enabled through its CybaOps platform. It is designed to unify security operations into a single operating model. Rather than focusing solely on monitoring, CybaOps combines automation, orchestration and response with certification support, continuous monitoring, incident response and AI-driven insights. This enables security teams to prioritise threats and act quickly without unnecessary complexity.
CEO Spence continues:
“Too many organisations are stuck in survival mode, firefighting alerts across fragmented platforms and reacting to problems without ever being in control. This is particularly challenging for mid-market organisations and MSPs expected to deliver enterprise-grade outcomes without enterprise-level budgets or headcount. The industry keeps selling more complexity as progress, but more tools don’t equal better security. Control does.”
The acquisition of SecureAck plays a key role in this strategy, giving CybaVerse deeper control over alert ingestion, workflow automation and integration across disparate security tools. The rebrand follows a £5 million Series A funding round, the acquisition of SecureAck, and the rapid growth of the CybaOps platform.
CEO Spence concludes:
“With SecureAck, we removed a major dependency. It allowed us to accelerate platform development and give customers something they’ve been missing for years – a way to actually operate security, not just observe it. We’re not trying to add another dashboard to the pile. We’re building the operational backbone that security teams actually need.Cyber security doesn’t need to be louder or more complicated. It needs to be calmer, sharper and run by people who are in control. That’s what this rebrand represents.”
With fresh investment, an expanded platform and a sharpened identity, CybaVerse is now focused on scaling CybaOps for MSPs and organisations seeking greater operational clarity.
